Volunteers Launch Renewed Search for Missing Siblings Lilly and Jack Sullivan

In a desperate bid to bring home missing siblings Lilly and Jack Sullivan, a group of dedicated volunteers from Ontario is set to scour the banks of the middle river of Picto this weekend. It has been over six long months since the children were reported missing from their home in Landown Station, and hope is reigniting as search efforts intensify.

The search, spearheaded by local resident Old Reef, is focused on a crucial area just across the road from the children’s home. With water levels having shifted significantly in recent months, Reef believes there’s a strong possibility of locating the siblings if they ended up in the river. “If those children wound up in the middle river of Picto, there’s a high possibility we locate them on Saturday,” he stated, highlighting the urgency of the operation.

Around 40 local residents are volunteering their time to cover a vast area surrounding the river, a terrain that has not been revisited since the initial search efforts began on May 2nd. The siblings vanished without a trace, prompting extensive search and rescue operations through the densely wooded areas near their home. Despite the RCMP’s exhaustive efforts, including a 40 km search with cadaver dogs in September, no evidence has been found.

Local councilor support for the renewed search is palpable. “The RCMP have done everything they can here, and the search and rescue have done a tremendous job, but they just couldn’t find them,” he remarked. “If we can get other searchers coming in, at least they’re trying.”

As police continue to sift through forensic evidence and over 860 tips, as well as more than 8,000 video files, the urgency of the situation remains. The volunteer search will commence at dawn on Saturday, with plans to extend into Sunday if necessary. The community is rallying around this effort, fueled by hope and determination to bring Lilly and Jack Sullivan home.

“We’re going to do the best we can to locate these kids,” Reef assured, as the community prepares for what could be a pivotal moment in this heart-wrenching case. The clock is ticking, and every minute counts as they embark on this critical search.
