Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever couldn’t keep their season alive on Wednesday; they fell to the Connecticut Sun in Game 2 of the first round of the WNBA playoffs.

With 1:29 remaining in the first quarter, Clark got into it with a fan at Mohegan Sun Arena. Clark went to the referees and pointed out the fan. Security guards came over to remove him from his seat.

At first glance, it looked like the supporter was getting ejected, but the person returned to their seat a few minutes later.

Shortly after the fan was removed by security, Clark appeared to discuss what the fan had said to her with Fever teammates Lexie Hull and NaLyssa Smith.

Smith’s instant reaction was caught on camera.

It is unclear what the fan actually said to Clark, but given Smith’s reaction, it couldn’t have been good.

For most of the season, Smith started alongside Clark for the Fever, including Game 1 against the Sun. In Game 2, coach Christie Sides replaced her with Temi Fagbenle in a matchup decision.

Smith was the No. 2 pick in the 2022 WNBA draft after four seasons with the Baylor Bears. In her three WNBA seasons, she started all but six games she has played in, averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds per game.
