The online world is mourning the loss of Zuza Beine, a beloved social media influencer who passed away on September 23 at just 14 years old after an extraordinary 11-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Zuza, known online as Zuzabini, captured the hearts of nearly two million followers on Instagram by openly sharing her journey with cancer. Despite living most of her life with a relentless disease, her outlook, joy, and resilience left a lasting impact on those who followed her story.
Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement posted to her Instagram page, writing:
“She lived 11 of her 14 years with a relentless cancer, yet lived more fully and gratefully than most. Her being changed us forever, and her dying will too.”
Zuza’s parents, who helped manage her account, reflected on their daughter’s remarkable spirit. They shared that more than anything, she simply wanted to live a normal, healthy childhood. But what made her life extraordinary was how she embraced each moment, no matter how difficult, with courage and gratitude.
Her final video, posted just days before her passing, was a poignant reminder of how she found beauty in small joys—a message that resonated deeply with her followers.
In a 2023 interview with NBC Milwaukee, Zuza revealed that she never expected her story to reach so many.
“I thought it’d just be like my friends, online friends, or like my mom’s Facebook friends following me,” she said. “I started my Instagram because I wanted to share my journey with other people and help other kids that were going through the same thing as me.”
Through her honesty and positivity, Zuza became a beacon of hope and strength—not just for children battling illness, but for anyone facing life’s hardships.
Her legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and a reminder that even the shortest lives can leave the deepest impact.
