Cardi B Takes the Stand: Rap Superstar Defends Herself in Heated Civil Trial
Bronx-born rap sensation Cardi B is making her voice heard in court, testifying in a high-profile civil trial that has fans and social media buzzing. The case pits Cardi against former security guard Emani Ellis, who alleges that the Grammy-winning artist assaulted her during a tense encounter back in 2018.
Cardi B recounted the incident, which took place while she was four months pregnant and attending a routine obstetrician appointment in Beverly Hills. According to Cardi, things took a turn when Ellis began trailing her through the hallway and recording her on a smartphone. The situation quickly escalated into a heated verbal exchange.
“I did call her a ‘bitch,’” Cardi admitted on the stand, “but it was all words. We got in each other’s faces, but I never laid a finger on her.”
Ellis, however, told a very different story. She claimed Cardi lashed out physically, swinging at her and even scratching her cheek with her famously long fingernails. Cardi shot down those accusations, insisting, “She’s way bigger than me. There’s no way I would’ve tried to fight her.”
Interestingly, Cardi says she never saw the video Ellis allegedly filmed during the confrontation. Regardless, the altercation has now landed both women in court, with the truth up for debate.
