In a shocking new report, the New York Times reveals that Donald Trump is in the midst of a lawsuit against the Justice Department for investigating him over Russiagate — and he wants $230 million in damages.

That’s right; the president of the United States is trying to extort the US government for investigating a crime and wants it to deliver hundreds of millions of public dollars into his wallet.

During an Oval Office event last week, Trump said that “I have a lawsuit that was doing very well, and when I became president, I said I’m sort of suing myself…I don’t know, how do you settle the lawsuit? I’ll say, ‘Give me X dollars,’ right?”

But surely he can’t do that, right? Unfortunately…he might be able to. The Times notes that  “According to the Justice Department manual, settlements of claims against the department for more than $4 million ‘must be approved by the deputy attorney general or associate attorney general,’ meaning the person who oversees the agency’s civil division.”

The Deputy Attorney General led Trump’s defense team against those investigations by the Biden DOJ. What are the odds he’ll suddenly grow a conscience? Not likely.
