Chicago Sky already the ‘dirtiest’ team with Caitin Clark, but even with fouls they can’t stop her
The Indiana Fever’s Clark has been repeatedly targeted with flagrant fouls in her rookie season.
Despite the Chicago Sky‘s tactics to persistently foul Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever‘s star continues to rise above the pettiness as she stunned Angel Reese and her side in a 100-81 victory on Friday, August 30.
In the latest meeting between the Sky and the Fever, the 22-year-old ex-Iowa Hawkeyes’ player suffered two more flagrant fouls in her rookie season with Teresa Weatherspoon‘s team thinking it’s a viable tactic.
The first foul came in the third quarter when Michaela Onyenwere committed reckless closeout by not allowing Clark to safely land after shot tried to shoot a three-pointer, with the WNBA rookie landing hard on her back whilst her rival nonchalantly walked away.

Then came another foul in the fourth quarter when Diamond DeShields charged Clark from behind during a transition phase, knocking her to the floor to take the Sky’s total against her up to four flagrant fouls for the season.
That accounts for one flagrant foul per game during Fever-Sky meetings and amounts to 80% of all the flagrant fouls Clark has suffered in the 2024 WNBA season prompting a very big question of why the team and coaching staff seem to deem it acceptable.
As per acrossthetimeline.com, flagrant fouls on Clark just by the Chicago Sky alone make up 13.8% of all such fouls in the WNBA in what seems to be a problem that neither the team or league are willing to get control of.
Clark stars in Fever victory over Sky
Despite repeatedly and needlessly being targeted, the 22-year-old continues to talk her talk through immense talent to silence the haters and critics and she did so once again in the August 30 meeting between the Sky and Fever.

She posted 31 points, 12 assists and four rebounds in a 100-81 victory against the Sky to continue to boost the Fever’s chances of making the post season picture, with their record for the season up to .500 with 16 wins.
Clark has now shot for 18 points or more in every league game since July 15, some seven games ago, recording 168 points in the run and an average of 24 points per game in the purple patch showing that she’s truly getting up to speed after a rocky start.
