An unbelievable amount of bloopers happened over 14 seconds in the Dallas Wings-Chicago Sky game on Wednesday evening.
And believe us, you’ll see this on highlight reel shows for years.
It all started just three minutes into the first quarter, when Ariel Atkins stripped Dallas guard Aziaha James of the ball. It looked like the Chicago Sky guard had a clear path to an easy basket, but JJ Quinerly came up from behind to swing the ball away.
But Quinerly also lost a step and fell to the ground, leading to a scramble for the loose basketball. Atkins briefly regained possession and fell as well, before the officials blew the whistle and called for a jump ball:
There’s still plenty of the 2025 WNBA season left, but we’ll go ahead and guess that the Dallas Wings and Chicago Sky just locked in the “blooper of the year” award together.

Coming into Wednesday night’s game, only the Connecticut Sun (3-16) had a worse record than Chicago (5-13). The Wings (6-14) have also endured a disappointing first half, but there’s plenty of time left for both clubs to get on a roll and climb back in the playoff race.
